After going back and forth on what to write about lately, I just decided to settle on posting some highlights over the last 2 weeks. Enjoy 🙂
THOUGHTS:
Life has been pretty good lately. It’s definitely getting closer to transition time, and that has caused me to reminisce on a lot of great memories in the last year. I am so so grateful for all of the challenges that have put me in the place that I’m in now. Although definitely unexpected, it makes me laugh to think if you had shown me a year ago some of the things I’m doing now, I’d be shocked, impressed, and so confused. I have had to grow up a little more in order to take responsibility for my actions. Spending a lot of time on your own can either damage you or strengthen you. A year ago it definitely would have damaged me but now I feel like I have my personality and sense of self back. I don’t know how to segue into the last thing I want to share so I’ll just attach this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPhCJaBqh74. I cry every time I watch this video because for the first time in three years I haven’t had those feelings that are mentioned in the story. Of course the sadness doesn’t always go away completely, but I owe it to some great people I’ve met this summer, as well as my family and the other supportive environments I’ve been a part of these last few months. I encourage everyone who watched that video to take the message to heart. It doesn’t matter who you are or what the severity of your struggles are. Everyone matters to someone and we all have a place here, so don’t be afraid to lean on your people when you need it.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
I’m running again. For real this time and it’s been so freaking awesome. People ask the stupid “runner’s high” question all the time but it happens to me during/after every single run and I’ve been in the best mood because of it. This time around, I could care less about posting on Strava because I don’t rely on the validation anymore but also because I want to train and do it the right way.
It’s been a growing summer for sure. I’ve gained a better perspective on what’s important and it’s come down to surrounding myself with genuine people. Hopefully the people I hang out with care enough to read this so here’s your shoutout; thanks guys I appreciate you all a ton.
I’m going to Utah for a good portion of August and am super excited for all of the adventures and hikes. Will definitely be posting pictures on here and instagram so look out for me in a festive hawaiian party shirt in Zions. (shoutout Jack Stauss if you see this, I ordered one of your shirts last week)
Last, I get the pleasure of driving my car back from Utah to Ohio. Please send podcasts/music/anythingthatwillkeepmesane. I am gonna stop in Boulder though so very very excited for that.
Thanks for reading guys, cheers.
