Girl, you already have what it takes.
You are stronger than you think. Stop being so ashamed to tell others your goals in fear of not accomplishing them. Instead, be brave enough to share them.
Because once you share them and stand up for your dreams then maybe it will inspire that freshman on your team who is too afraid as well.
Or your little sister even.
Your dreams are tall and they are not even close to being done growing yet. Let them stretch to the sky and shine bright. You are that light, that glitter and gold.
She is strong and brave and courageous and not a single negative comment can bring her down or set her off track. She is in the world, but not of it. She is kind, even on the bad days where it feels impossible to smile.
She is the world. She doesn’t know it yet but she is she is she is.
Take into consideration that where you are right now may have been the place where you once dreamed of being. Be grateful for growth and recognize what you can control in your life. The grass is always greener where you water it so plant your own garden instead of waiting for someone else to bring you flowers.
You are going places, but you have to believe that to be true first.
Girl, you are the world.

Emma! Your words and work ethic at practice inspire me every day to become a better runner and a better person in general. I am so thankful that you joined Madeira XC this year and I couldn’t imagine this season being as amazing as it is without you. You are so kind and funny and I’m so glad I’ve gotten to know you these past few months.
